Gecko necklace

A cute gecko crouching on the collar bone, peeking to the world around it.

The gecko was first hand modelled in wax and then cast in sterling silver and worked into a necklace with an anchor chain and spring ring closure.

The piece is inspired by my love for reptiles: geckos are welcome guests during summer evenings, when they visit terraces and porticoes to feed on the bugs collecting around lamps and other lights. They are cute and secretive, and they make a perfect necklace subject, with their distinct features and sweet paws.

One version of the pendant is studded by small tsavorites (namely green garnets).

The pendant is about 3.5x2.5 cm (1"1/2×1"). The overall necklace lenght is 45 cm (17"3/4).
