About VRJ
VerdeRame Jewels was born out of Sara's passion for handicraft and creativity and her need to escape her office job.
With a background in building engineering and conservation of heritage structures, Sara developed her style drawing inspiration from traditional jewellery, mosaics and decorative patterns, as well as geometrical lines.
She initially pursued her passion through several courses with established, independent artists in various countries - India, Germany, UK and Lebanon - and finally decided to take the leap and radically change her career.
In 2022, she attended a professional course in Rome, where she refined her skills, and eventually became a full-time goldsmith under the name VerdeRame. The name, green copper in Italian, reflects Sara's love of this material, which often features in her pieces and can create beautiful green hues through oxidation.
Sara's work brings together a variety of inspirations and techniques, spanning from the organic shapes of nature to clear-cut geoemetry, mixing and matching traditional techniques such as granulation and mokume-gane with a variety of materials including sea glasses and non-precious metals. At the core of her working philosophy is the creation of unique, whimsical pieces that can reasonate with the wearer.
